And others are not, though I do find women are more helpful than others, and will in fact go out of their way to find information for you. This evening was just such a case. I’m running a barcamp in March, and one of the streams that will be set aside will be for Girl Geeks
I was twittering this, yes I twitter, get over it. Roseanne Smith very nicely gave me some contacts and also suggested a site I’d never seen before and in fact cannot believe I never knew about it. It’s brilliant it’s called Geek Speaker.
Anyway thought it was very nice and useful site that folks may want to use.

Last week saw up have the July 4th Celebrations of twitter meet up! Small turn out, but none the less very enjoyable to put the face to the names. We met at the Bull and Castle, different location from the previous meet up, but we were staill able to find people as Elly had her cake baked and we did use twitter to locate people.

So a few questions that came up from @debbiemet how do you know who people are when you’ve never met them before? Are folks being nervous at first face to face meeting? I guess I’d never thought about it. I’m so used to randomly turning up to events and just jumping head in. But I guess it may put some folks turning up if they are a bit shy or don’t know what to expect. It means they miss out on events.
Saying that everyone had an enjoyable night and sampled some very nice beers
Hopefully someone else will organsie the next one

Right, twitter, bloggers, nutters, really anyone who really wants to come along for a few beers and maybe a nibble or two come along. When…. Suggested date is July 4th, though if anyone thinks this isn’t a great date, shout now or forever keep quiet!
If there any Americans to come along! We’ll help you celebrate!
Where…. next issue…. We met at O’Neills the last day, very nice. But let’s try somewhere new. I’ve suggested The Bull and Castle. Nice place, spacious, does their own brews and beers from all over the place. It’s different
We’ll just have to get ellybabes to bring the balloon along to mark the spot!

So I twitter as do a lot of folks at this stage. However, at times so twitters have extensive bouts of twitterific verbal diahorrea and if you are getting updates via your sms you’ll use up the 250 sms in a matter of hours. So to stop this you can give someone a time out. you can put them on snooze
I found this via Sam Allen’s site.

So I’m now living in Dublin. I decided this bank holiday Monday gone by I should go and see something new up here. I’ve visted the Museum as it’s only around the corner from me in Stoneybatter. Seeing as I had the car (shall post about that later) I thought I’d visit somewhere new and differnt. Asking for suggestions on twitter I got a helpful suggestion from @eske that I should look at going to see Famrleigh Park.
I got there and was amazed at the space and the packed crowds there just relaxing in the sun and it was really nice to see this in Ireland. I guess I take it for granted when I travel and go see these places and pay to get it. Farmleigh is free entry as it is owned by the state.
There is a small short tour (again free) as this house was previous owned by the Guinness Family it takes you through their history and what they did with the house. The grounds are well kept but loads of green space so if you wanted to have a picnic you could, they even put out loads of fold up chairs so folks can sit around and I’m told they often have outdoor concerts.
On a Sunday there is a famers market there which I will have to go back and compare it to the Limerick markt I go to on a Saturday when I’m home. All pics of day are here. Be warned there are lots of flowers as trying to play with my camera and functions and also keep my mother happy with photos not of me sticking my tongue out at people!
