I stumbled upon this recenly while at the Longstone. It takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (same night as the Ubuntu-ie PotD).

A very ‘novel’ idea, it’s the open source of books. People bring along their books and share them. Swapping their books for new ones. It’s called Book Crossing and is an international group. It gives you a chance to try a new authour you normall wouldn’t try, it doesn’t cost you anything and the next time you go back, you could pick up another novel.

All that they ask you to do is register online, tag it, and say where you are located and what you thought of it. Some books have travelled to South America from Dublin, and vice versa.

I was well chuffed and looking forwad to going back again tomorrow night.
