Geeknic Dublin
Posted in events, Freenode on 05/10/2009 12:02 pm by Laura CzajkowskiGeeks left behind their laptops and servers and toys and took to the park in Dublin as part of the free as in node podcast picnics for Geeks taking place all over summer in the States, Ireland, and in Europe.
What started off as six people on an overcast day, turned to be 27 people and 2 cute kids in a sunny St.Stephens Green park in Dublin. We had yumy cakes provided by Will Knott who baked cakes for everyone and they went down very well!, so thank you Will!

Relaxing in the Sun in the park
It was great to get away from the computers for one day, didn’t stop the geek talking conversations and all in all we had a nice day out and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We shall have to try and have another one before the end of summer. Photos as always are located on Pix.ie.
I also realised how pretty the park is, and seeing as it’s on my front door step I really should go there more often so will have to go back and visit it again. It was great to see the folks from Ubuntu-ie there and the TOG lads and the numbers are increasing in both goups and they come to more and more events.
