  • Viking Re-enactment Day

I went along on  Sunday to see the Viking re-enacmtnet taking place at the National Museum of Ireland. I must say I feel really bad as I’ve been saying for a long time I should go in there and have been meaning to for a number of years, so now that I’m living up here and it’s literally on my front door step I took a stroll around yesterday to have a look.

I’ve taken some pictures of the clothing and artillery they would have used during viking fights.  Butwhat was really interesting to watch was the fighting. So taking some small video clips also of the and didn’t want to embed them all in here after wrecking Donncha’s head already this morning :)

Following your advice on Twitter I went down on Saturday - really enjoyed it. Found a passion for viking weaponry I didn’t know I had!

Must say I found it very interesting and they also explain how things were done back them. Plus then I got to go into the museum and have a look around. Will definately go back again when I have more time to look around.

it’s scary just how many of the fighters I know. Let me know if you want to get to know them better, and learn how to do it.
