So I’m now up in Dublin over a month and still liking it, so it can’t be all that bad. I’m working in Quest Computing as a Software Tester.
On the Saturday I was lucky enough to have tickets for the Ireland V Italy match in Croke Park. Not the most exciting of matches I know, but I was 12 rows from the from the pitch in the Hogan stand (cheers munky). I still managed to celebrate don’t worry and then on Sunday move house eventually!
I finally got a place living on Manor Place about 15 minutes away from work, Smithfield and more pubs (I have my priorities). Mental note, moving house after being out the night before is not wise! You’d think I’d learn!!!!

So last weekend in Dublin I was introduced to the phenomena that is American Football and the grand finale Superbowl Sunday. Kev invited me to go see this at the Woolshed in Dublin. After Kev very nicely explaining the rules and who was playing who (New York Giants V New England Patriots) and the great importance of the game (The New England Patriots had won the last consecutive 16 games) over a few sociable pints and some nibbles I was well informed to watched the match and roar at the right times!!
I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the match and the last 10 minutes of the game where the patriots were winning the entire way though and lost the ball in the last few minutes denying them wining 17 games straight. The Giants won 17–14 on a final-minute touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress.
All in all it was a great night with some interesting Google company and spicy and not so spicy wings!!
Cheers Kev!
(There may also have been some bets made on Munster winning the Heineken Cup and the American election, but these need to be re-discussed over pints)
